Serving Our Community

We accomplished an important goal! After a wonderful Charity Garden Party fundraiser hosted by N2 Gives and organized by Jennifer Lynn Pizer the Club had $2500 to serve our community. Working with Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area and The Craftsman Center in Taylor, Texas, we met with five Apprentice Plumbers being trained by Coppera Plumbing to give each of them a $500 grant to support their education in a trade.

HEB Center - Fundraiser

story thumbnail

Sign up for a shift to work one of the 6 storefronts (ie-food vendor) inside the HEB Center to help our Rotary club raise funds for local school scholarships and other community events we sponsor.  At $50+/person and an average of 5-8 people per event, it won't take us long to earn enough to give a $500 scholarship for each worthy student we sponsor.  Our goal is to sponsor several students this year.

Let's all have some fun and help the community at the same time!

** REMINDER: YOU MUST HAVE COMPLETED YOUR TABC COURSE AND GONE THROUGH THE HEB ORIENTATION TO BE ELIGIBLE TO WORK! **

Foundation-Part 1

The Rotary Foundation - Part 1

Past District Governor Rich Kaye was our guest speaker on April 12th.  His presentation was Part One of Two dealing with the Rotary Foundation.

The Rotary Foundation transforms your gifts into projects that change lives both close to home and around the world. As the charitable arm of Rotary, the Foundation taps into a global network of Rotarians who invest their time, money, and expertise into our priorities, such as eradicating polio and promoting peace. Foundation grants empower Rotarians to approach challenges such as poverty, illiteracy, and malnutrition with sustainable solutions that leave a lasting impact.

When you give to The Rotary Foundation, you support Rotary's work across the world and help ensure our future. You can choose where to direct your donation and how you wish to give. Recognition is offered at many giving levels.

There are a number of ways to designate how you donation is used...the best being t allow the Foundation to choose how best to place your donation funds.

Come Tuesday and learn more about how our small individual donations multiply into making some SERIOUS changes in the health and happiness of the world family that Rotary supports.

Family Financial Planning

Financial Planning for Your Family

Jackie Cara of the Rabalais Law Firm was our guest speaker on March 22nd.  She spoke to about an aspect of planning tht many of us avoid considering jut as long as we can...
  • Wills
  • Trusts
  • Powers of Attorney
It is not rocket science...it just takes a little time and thought to protect our assets and our families.

Some things to consider include:
  • Is it possible to avoid costs and delays of a Texas Probate?
  • How to choose between a Living Trust and a Last Will and Testament.
  • Which assets should (and should not) be transferred to your trust to avoid probate.
  • Three advantages and two disadvantages of a Revocable Living Trust in Texas.
  • Why a living trust may be “a must” if you own real estate in or outside of Texas.
  • How to keep your estate planning legal documents up-to-date for the rest of your life.
  • How your loved ones will manage your estate if you become incapable.
  • How to keep your financial accounts and investments private.
Visit the Rabalais Law Firm web site at http://rabalaislaw.com/ for answers to questions like those above and to download a
