History

The Cedar Park - Leander Rotary Club was founded in 1989 with its first President being David Johnson (he served in that capacity for the first two years). The Club currently has membership representing a variety of businesses and professions from in and around the Cedar Park/Leander area. The club meets the first and third Wednesdays of each month.  Our regular meetings are held at 7 a.m. at, Springhill Suites, 1110 Discovery Boulevard,  Cedar Park, TX 78613.

During the coronavirus outbreak we are meeting in an online Zoom meeting, the first & third Wednesdays at 7:00 a.m.

International Service

Through the contribution of the club’s members to the Rotary Foundation we are able to participate in all the worldwide service programs of Rotary International. This includes Polio Plus with the goal of eradicating polio worldwide. The Rotary Club of Cedar Park has had ongoing joint project relationships with other Rotary Clubs in Mexico.

Local Service Programs

Locally, and throughout the local District, many service programs offer our club the opportunity for participation. The Cedar Park Rotary Club directly supports the following services and charitable events (and many others).

  • Sponsor students to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards camp in the summer at Bastrop.

  • Provide scholarship funds to deserving LISD area students.

  • Assisted in fund raising for the new Cedar Park library and continue with support the "Friends" book sales for further funding.

  • Sponsored courses for English As A Second Language to help non-English specking mothers learn English so they can support their children’s growth and education in the language.

  • Club members have supported the City of Cedar Park 4th of July celebrations and the Cedar Park Parks Department with signage and planting trees.
