Last year, one of our Club's goals was to give grants to students enrolled in a program to train them in one of the trades, such as electrical, plumbing, or HVAC. The grants could be used for any program-related purpose, including tuition or trade-related tools. Our garden party fundraiser netted $2,500. On September 25th, we will distribute $500 in vocational grants to five plumbing students working through the Craftsmen Center in Taylor, Texas. All Club members are welcome to attend the presentation, which will be at Coppera Plumbing, 1009 W. 2nd St., Taylor, TX. Meet at Dee's house at 3:00 if you want to carpool. |

Support the Salvation Army in the annual month of giving by ringing the Salvation Army Bell. Each year, The Salvation Army will serve more than 25 million people across America – including many here in your community. That means 55+ million meals for the hungry, 10+ million nights of shelter for the homeless, and countless Christmas gifts for children who may otherwise go without. So truly, you can make a difference with every ring. The funds you raise as a Salvation Army bell ringer will make a year-round impact in your community through social services assistance, homeless shelters, disaster relief, children’s programs, rehabilitation services, anti-human trafficking, and more. Donations in the red kettle stay local – directly impacting the lives of your neighbors by helping them in their time of need. When you ring the bell, you’re making change happen. |
