Sixty-three percent of senior dogs do not survive an animal shelter experience.  Rhonda saw the need for an alternative approach instead of relying on the conventional shelter adoption model.  Her vision led to her founding Living Grace Canine Ranch located in Bertram. Over the past four years, LGCR’s vision and thoughtful program execution have significantly improved the quality of life for senior dogs in Williamson County.

District Governor Nominee Jeff is a native Texan who has lived all over the state, but primarily grew up in Corpus Christi.  He is a 1988 graduate of Corpus Christi State University with a BA in Political Science.  He and his wife, Shannon, moved to Pflugerville in 2001 after he opened a State Farm Insurance Agency.  He has three grown children, one son-in-law and three beautiful grandchildren. 

Jeff has a long history of serving his community in volunteer roles.  He is incredibly proud of the 9 and a half years he led Pflugerville as its Mayor.  During his term, Pflugerville grew from a population of 35,000 to 60,000 and in 2016 was recognized as the 12^th best city in America for a population of 50,000-300,000.  He joined the Rotary Club of Pflugerville in 2000 and is a three-time Past President, Board Member, and has served on various other committees and club projects. At the District level, he has served as District Project Coordinator, District Insurance Representative, and is on the Membership Committee as Club Liaison. He is a Major Donor Level 3, Bequest Society Level 2 and Paul Harris Society Member.

Doug, a proud Rotary Club of Temple-South member since 2000, has held multiple leadership positions, including President, Foundation Chair, Board Member, and Chair of the Neighborhood Flag Project. He is also recognized in the District 5870 Roll of Fame. Doug has served as the District DAP Grant Coordinator for the past three years and is currently the District Governor-Elect. He is a Major Donor 1, Sustaining Member, and Paul Harris Society Member. Doug and his wife, Lisa, have 5 children: Hailey (& Luke), Calvin, Reagan (& Josh). They also have a Miniature Schnauzer named Charlie, who serves as the unofficial Mascot of District 5870 for Doug's District Governor year. Professionally, Doug is a Partner in PapergraphicsPrinting and FastSigns in Temple, Texas. He actively contributes to his community as an Elder at Redeemer Presbyterian Church.  

Scott Rainey was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  He attended the University of Oklahoma and is a proud Sooner!  Scott is married to Martha Bowles, who he met in church in Clear Lake, TX.  Scott trades petrochemicals and fuel products as his day job.

Scott is a member of the Rotary Club of Austin and was previously a member of the Space Center club in Houston.  He served as Rotary District 5890 Governor for the year 2020-21.  Scott is a Major Donor and member of the White Hat Society.

We will hear from three of our new members: Mick Donohoe, Kim Komisarek, and Cheryl McGirr, about their careers and how they use the principles of Rotary in their work.

We will also receive the slate of Club Officers and Directors for Rotary Year 2025-2026 in preparation for elections at the meeting.

Becky Calzada, 2024-2025 President of AASL, is a District Library Coordinator in Leander, Texas, and a co-founding member of Texas #FReadom Fighters. She was selected for the 4th ALA Policy Corp Cohort, works as a member of the ALA Policy Corp Proactive Advocacy on Book Banning cadre and is a past member of the ALA Intellectual Freedom Committee. She is actively involved in the Texas Library Association and serves on the legislative committee and served as Past-Chair for the Texas Association of School Librarians division in 2016-2017. Becky is the recipient of several intellectual freedom awards and was honored by People Magazine in their 2023 Women Changing the World portfolio. Becky is the co-author of Prepared Libraries, Empowered Teams: A Workbook for Navigating Intellectual Freedom Challenges Together which was published by ALA Editions in June 2024.

Julia Mitschke has served the City of Cedar Park as Library Director since 2015. As Library Director, she is responsible for overseeing the city’s library services, including a collection of over 196,000 digital and physical materials, the newly opened 47,000 square foot Library facility in the Bell District, extensive library programs, and 37 employees in the areas of Administration, Circulation, Makerspaces, Public Services, Technical Services and Youth Services. She is also the Library's liaison to the Cedar Park Public Library Foundation. 

Mitschke holds a Master of Science in Information Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Texas at Austin. She is a member of the American Library Association and the Texas Library Association. 

Prior to her current position, Mitschke was employed at the Cedar Park Public Library as Operations Manager (2010 to 2015), Children's Services Librarian (2008 to 2010), Public Services Librarian (2007 to 2008), and Children's Library Assistant (2006 to 2007).
